Last, but certainly not least, this is Alisa Logue! Alisa is another KPS Design Team alum and a regular fixture at the clubhouse. She's also earned an endearing nickname from my mom: L'il Bit. Anyway, getting to know, Alisa Logue:
How long have you been scrapbooking? I have been scrapbooking for 24 years. My grandmother got me started when I was 10 by giving me a magnetic-page album already started with photos, newspaper clippings, poems and letters I had written, and my drawings. Of course scrapbooking has come a long way since then. I have been traditional scrapbooking since 1999 when my son was born.
Why did you get started? I love preserving my memories. I feel that scrapbooking is the perfect way to document a life well lived for future generations to appreciate and experience a sense of connectedness. But, if I'm honest... I scrapbook just as much for the artistic outlet as for provinance.
What is your favorite scrapbooking tool? I love my Cricut machine which was a generous blessing gifted to me. And I am also addicted to border punches... oh, and my sewing machine. My pages are not complete until I have run them through my Singer.
What is your beverage of choice while scrapbooking? I usually work on projects late at night so my scrapbooking beverage of choice is Peet's coffee with Creme Brulee creamer. Or should I say Creme Brulee creamer with a splash of coffee! : ) Keeps the mojo flowin' on those all-nighters.
Who do you scrapbook about most? My children are my biggest inspiration and most willing subjects to be photographed (of course bribes don't hurt either). My husband is majorly camera shy... no not shy... he acts like a goofball in front of the camera or flat out refuses. So I can never capture his true self. I'm working on him.
If you were on a reality tv show, which one would it be and why? My husband and I actually downloaded the application for Amazing Race once. We would totally rock that show and become millionaires. It is so 'our thing' the travel, the adventure, the physical activities. Just looking for someone to watch our kiddos for a month.
What is the most fun place you've ever traveled to, and why was it your fave?
That's a hard one for me to answer. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to travel a lot through the years to 14 countries. I love to travel. Every travel experience I've had has enriched my life in one way or another. I was an exchange student in high school to Belgium, Europe for one year. My husband took me on a surprise trip to Hawaii after our 10 year anniversary. That was incredible. Most recently I spent three weeks in Uganda, Africa in March. While there as part of a missions trip our team helped out with an orphanage and conducted children's festivals and a women's conference. It was an amazing experience. Africa has changed my perspective on life and I can't wait to tell that story in a scrapbook.
What was your favorite childhood food? PIZZA!!!!!!!!! Extra cheese please!
What is the best concert you've ever been to? One of my girlfriends and I go to Britt every year together. We've seen some great concerts but my favorite has to be Jamie Cullum. He feels his music and makes his listeners feel it too. Such a soul thing for him. I love that when an artist creates with their total being.
What is the craziest thing you've ever done? Although I'm adventurous, I am not all that daring. I guess hitch-hiking in Europe as a teen-ager might be the craziest. Didn't feel all that crazy at the time but now that I'm a mom I think it's crazy-crazy.
